The
first time I painted the cougar with it's native spirit was a challenge
and later I found out why. The cougar was the guiding spirit for the shaman and
when the white-man's disease's decimated the tribes it was the shaman that cared
for the sick. All the shaman that followed the ways of the cougar were
eventually wiped out along with their totems and stories.
